The family of Manus languages is a subgroup of the Eastern Admiralty Islands languages. It consists of 22 languages.[1]
A 2008 analysis of four Manus languages in the Austronesian Basic Vocabulary Database[2] fully supported the unity of the family. It showed that Loniu is closer to Leipon (East Manus) than it is to Likum and Levei (West Manus).
